Awakened To His Presence

One of the worst feelings is when you’re in the middle of the best dream ever, and suddenly your alarm goes off. All you want to do is hit snooze a few more times, and before you know it, the morning is gone.
Spiritually, the same thing can happen to us. We drift into distraction, comfort, or routine, and before long, we’ve hit snooze on God’s presence. Studies say the average person spends 122 days a year sleeping and another 70 days on their phone. That’s nearly 200 days already gone before school, work, or family even enter the equation.
The real question is this: With the time we have left, how much of it are we giving to God? Time is a gift, and God invites us to use it wisely, to walk with Him, and to grow in knowing Him more.
This past Sunday, we looked at three ways we can awaken to God’s presence in the middle of our busy, distracted lives:
1. Open His Word
“The entrance of Your words gives light.” (Psalm 119:130)
God’s Word is like light breaking through the blinds in the morning. It pierces the darkness and wakes us up. Scripture awakens us to the reality of Jesus, His promises, and His presence with us.
Practice: Start your day with one verse. Before we scroll, let’s open the Scriptures and let His Word set the tone.
2. Eat His Word
“Taste and see that the Lord is good.” (Psalm 34:8)
Just as food fuels our body, God’s Word fuels our soul. We don’t only eat once a week, so we can’t survive on hearing the Bible only on Sundays. A steady diet of God’s Word strengthens us for everything we face.
Practice: Each morning, ask: “What daily bread do I need from Your Word today?”
3. Open Up in Worship
“You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)
Worship is not about hype. It is about intimacy with God. When we give Him our whole heart, we draw near to His presence. That might look like music, prayer, journaling, or simply stillness before Him, but the key is being intentional with Him.
Practice: Choose one intentional moment this week to worship God wholeheartedly.
Awakening to His presence means choosing revival over survival. It is not just knowing about God; it is experiencing Him — His Spirit, His Word, and His nearness in our everyday lives.
So here’s the challenge: Instead of hitting snooze on God, let’s give Him our best time and attention this week.
